Diskless 2-bay RTD1619B NAS with soldered 2GB and 2.5GbE

AS3302T v2; 2GB DDR4; diskless; 2 SATA bays

The AS3302T v2 keeps the cheap 2-bay ARM chassis but solders 2GB and adds 2.5-inch SATA support. Android Central saw ~214 MB/s with two 6TB IronWolf HDDs on 2.5GbE. PC-WELT's older ADM 4.3.3 table reached ~210/281 MB/s on an 8000 MB NAS-Performance-Tester run. Memory still cannot grow. See the review evidence ↓

ASUSTOR AS3302T v2 network attached storage system

Who this configuration fits

File sharing and backup

2 SATA bays set the main capacity and redundancy choices. A two-drive mirror stores one drive’s worth of data before overhead; there is no SATA RAID 5/6 path. Use the model compatibility list before buying drives.[1]

Good fit

Application hosting beyond file and backup services

The 2GB DDR4 memory is fixed; choose its file and backup features before planning application hosting.[1]

Limited fit

Fast wired transfers

1 x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (2.5G/1G/100M); confirm the rest of the network and drive layout.[1]

Storage, network and software trade-offs

01

Match the storage layout to the job

2 SATA bays set the main capacity and redundancy choices. A two-drive mirror stores one drive’s worth of data before overhead; there is no SATA RAID 5/6 path. Use the model compatibility list before buying drives.[1]

02

Plan the complete network path

1 x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (2.5G/1G/100M). A port rate is a link rating; protocol overhead, client storage and the array reduce file-transfer rates. This model has one Ethernet port.[1]

03

Understand software and workload limits

The tested file transfers exceeded Gigabit-class throughput. The installed 2GB memory cannot be expanded.[4]

04

What independent tests actually measured

Diskless 2-bay RTD1619B NAS with soldered 2GB and 2.5GbE. Android Central saw ~214 MB/s with 2×6TB IronWolf. PC-WELT's ADM 4.3.3 table reached ~210/281 MB/s on NAS-Performance-Tester 8000 MB. Memory still cannot grow.[4][5]

05

Small files are slower than a large movie

PC-WELT measured202.31/213.27 MB/s writing/reading a6.3GB film in RAID1, but38.54 MB/s writing4195 mixed files totaling2GB. Its simultaneous film-copy and backup workload reached103.13 MB/s. These tests used ADM4.3.3.RC92 and4TB IronWolf Pro drives.[5][6]

06

Power and operating noise

With its two test HDDs, PC-WELT recorded17.1W idle,6.4W sleep,24.5W load and0.4W off. Operating noise could bother sensitive users; disk sleep was described as very quiet. No dBA or measuring distance was published.[5]
