LincStation E1: specifications and dated store comparison →A $169 2+2 ARM NAS whose LincOS and 4GB ceiling matter more than the bay count
LincPlus-E1-8322-US · Rockchip RK3568 · 4GB soldered DDR4 · 64GB eMMC LincOS · 2 × 2.5/3.5-inch SATA + 2 × M.2 2280 · claimed 2.5GbE
This page uses LincPlus’s current US store specification and FAQs, the English E1 user manual and architecture PDF, and Dave Mitchell’s IT Pro RAID 1 test of an early pre-launch 2.5GbE unit. ChooseCompute has not tested this NAS. Pre-launch 1GbE reviews remain related, not substitute 2.5GbE numbers. See the review evidence ↓

Is the LincStation E1 right for you?
Low-cost home backup with mixed SATA and NVMe
Two full-size SATA bays plus two NVMe slots at $169 diskless is unusual; trays are user-serviceable.[1][2]

Living with it
Hardware, software and ownership tradeoffs
Treat 2.5GbE as the selling claim, and keep the 1GbE paper trail
The live US PDP, architecture PDF and IT Pro’s switch log all say 2.5GbE. The English user-manual spec table still prints 1 Gigabit, and TechRadar/AppleInsider pre-launch units were 1GbE. Do not mix those copy speeds with the 2.5GbE IT Pro result.[1][2][6][7]
LincOS is usable locally and unfinished remotely
Factory software is LincOS. The official FAQ lists RAID 0/1/5/6/10 on Btrfs, but IT Pro tested separate two-drive RAID 1 pools; mixed SATA/NVMe RAID 5/6 layouts are not independently verified. Current support says there is no macOS client and the Web UI is LAN-only. Built-in LincAccess remote access uses Windows/iOS/Android clients. IT Pro exercised Backup Disk/Sync Disk on an early software build.[3][4][6]

IT Pro: 2.5GbE RAID 1 copies stay around 66–225 MB/s
Dave Mitchell’s early pre-launch E1 linked at 2.5GbE with two IronWolf HDDs and two Kingston NVMe SSDs as separate RAID 1 pools. HDD Iometer 216/131 MB/s, 25 GB copies 170/112 MB/s, 10,500-file folder 66 MB/s. NVMe Iometer 225/139 MB/s, 25 GB copies 174/117 MB/s, same folder 71 MB/s. The Windows LincStation client app showed up to 80% CPU on the appliance, not the Dell server. RAID 5/6 was listed, not tested.

IT Pro LincStation E1 original test
Tested: Early pre-launch LincStation E1. Two 4TB Seagate IronWolf HDDs and two Kingston NVMe SSDs as separate RAID 1 pools (not one four-disk RAID). Zyxel XMG1930-30HP confirmed 2.5GbE on this unit. Client: Dell PowerEdge Windows Server 2025 on 10GbE LAN. Kickstarter copy showed Gigabit; LincPlus first said production would drop to 1GbE, then corrected that production keeps 2.5GbE.
Applies to: Direct for E1 2+2 layout and this 2.5GbE pre-launch sample with two RAID 1 pairs. OS RAID 0/1/10/5/6 list does not prove RAID 5/6 across mixed SATA+NVMe bays; the test used two-disk RAID 1 pools. CPU 80% is the LincStation Windows client app displaying appliance utilisation, not Dell server CPU.

Limits to keep in mind
- One unit and one LincOS build; Kickstarter-era pricing is not the current US SKU price.
- Specification table lists 1-year hardware warranty, which conflicts with later LincPlus 2-year NAS marketing.
- USB/HDMI generation wording differs from the current US PDP.

Current US manufacturer listing
On 11 Sep 2026 the US variant was $169 in stock on store.lincplustech.com (compare-at $219), diskless. A 2 Sep 2026 $169 observation is historical, not a second live card. Amazon.com pages were blocked in this pass.[8]
Drives, PSU class and warranty duration
Drives are extra. Official typical power is under 15 W excluding HDDs. Warranty duration conflicts between 2-year NAS marketing and IT Pro’s 1-year table.[3][5][6]
Confirm the applicable return window
The storefront advertises 30-day money-back, while LincPlus’s separate after-sales policy specifies 15 calendar days. Authorized third-party purchases use the seller’s return rules. Confirm the terms for your purchase channel; do not assume the longer window.[1][9]

Questions before buying
Is production Ethernet 1GbE or 2.5GbE?
LincPlus’s current US page, architecture PDF and IT Pro’s early pre-launch test unit say 2.5GbE. The English manual table still says 1 Gigabit, and some pre-launch reviews measured 1GbE. Confirm the port on the unit you receive.[1][2][6]
Can I use it from a Mac?
Locally via the web UI, yes. There is no macOS client, and LincAccess remote access is not in the web UI.[4]
How fast was it in independent testing?
IT Pro’s 2.5GbE early pre-launch unit: HDD RAID 1 Iometer 216/131 MB/s and 25 GB copies 170/112 MB/s; NVMe RAID 1 Iometer 225/139 MB/s and 25 GB copies 174/117 MB/s. The 10,500-file folder was 66 MB/s on HDD RAID 1 and 71 MB/s on NVMe RAID 1. The Windows client app showed up to 80% NAS CPU. This is not a 2.5GbE saturate.[6]
