N5PRO-37006US · AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 · 12-core · No memory installed (barebone) · 5 × SATA HDD + 3 × M.2/U.2 SSD

This page covers N5PRO-37006US, the N5 Pro barebone US configuration. Current official specifications describe Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370, one 10GbE and one 5GbE port, and five SATA bays. Related reviews use different memory configurations; no exact-kit performance result is established. See evidence and test gaps ↓

Is the N5 Pro Barebone right for you?

Custom high-compute NAS builds

The PCIe x16 slot and Ryzen AI processor separate the N5 Pro from ordinary five-bay enclosures, while M.2/U.2 options allow a fast flash tier.[1]

Good fit

Local AI, virtualization or accelerator experiments

The exact configuration combines No memory installed (barebone), 1 × 10GbE + 1 × 5GbE and 5 × SATA HDD + 3 × M.2/U.2 SSD.[1]

Good fit with planning

You want a turnkey appliance with memory installed

Barebone means zero installed RAM; ECC support does not prove that any user-selected module is validated, and MinisCloud software/version evidence is still incomplete.[1][2]

Hardware, software and ownership tradeoffs

01

MinisCloud features and backup limits

MinisCloud provides ZFS pools, snapshots, containers and client-to-NAS backup. LinuxLinks’ August 2026 N5 Pro review shows RAIDZ1 requiring at least three disks, RAIDZ2 four and RAIDZ3 six; the disabled options were disk-count restrictions. Its Backup app could not copy data already on the NAS to another target. The reviewer also observed a SAN/iSCSI app and a working Ubuntu VM, but no SSH/SFTP or native sharing of attached USB disks. These observations describe that tested release; confirm the build and required features before relying on it for backup.[5][1]

02

Related 32GB Windows compute and noise test

Notebookcheck tested an N5 Pro with 32GB ECC DDR5-5600, a 1TB Kingston OM8PGP41024Q-A0 SSD and Windows 11 Pro in Balanced mode. Cinebench 2024 scored 1,166 multi-core / 119 single-core; R23 scored 21,474 / 2,044. With no mechanical drives, idle consumption was 11.8–15.9W and maximum measured load 87.9W. Noise was 37.5–37.7 dBA idle and 40.7 dBA under load, measured at 15cm against a 24.8 dBA background. Those are upgraded-system CPU and acoustic tests, not measurements of the listed factory kit or network storage speed.[2]

03

Related 96GB ECC storage test

NASCompares’ July 2025 N5 Pro used 96GB ECC. Its summary table assigns roughly 900–1,000 MB/s read and 800 MB/s write to five SATA SSDs in RAID5; these are not an IronWolf-only array result. Internal Gen4 x1 and x2 NVMe results were about 1.7/1.6 and 3.3/3.1 GB/s read/write. Reported 10GbE SMB/iSCSI throughput was about 900 MB/s and 5GbE about 480 MB/s under the article’s alternative-OS testing. Idle power was 32–34W and combined load about 80W, with higher all-thread load explicitly untested. Noise of 32–34 dBA idle / 48–51 dBA at maximum fan lacks a stated measurement distance. The archived prose is available, but its embedded image frames were not independently read. Its older missing-iSCSI statement does not describe the later LinuxLinks release.[7]

04

Related Linux disk and power tests

LinuxLinks received a 16GB N5 Pro and then fitted 32GB non-ECC memory and Ubuntu 26.04. KDiskMark, five 1GiB passes, measured the 1TB Kingston OM8TAP41024K1-A00 in a Gen4 x1 slot at 1,721.78/1,285.02 MB/s and a 2TB Fanxiang S880 in the x2 slot at 3,451.54/3,299.90 MB/s (sequential Q8T1 read/write). These are internal SSD results. With four 6TB Toshiba drives, Linux power-management adjustments produced 18.4W with disks asleep and 53W with disks spinning; this is not a MinisCloud idle guarantee.[6]

05

Related Proxmox platform test

ServeTheHome’s October 2025 N5 Pro had 32GB memory and five shucked 28TB Seagate disks in RAIDZ2 under Proxmox VE 9. Its Geekbench 5.5.1 screenshot shows Debian 13 scoring 2,295 single-core and 15,013 multi-core; the comparison uses a different non-PRO processor and Windows, so it does not isolate the OS effect. Reported idle power was 45–49W and noise 39–41 dBA, without a reproducible acoustic-distance specification. That sample used built-in AQC113 10GbE; the RTL8127 driver issue concerned an added card. Current official specifications allow either controller for the built-in 10GbE port.[8]

What still needs a real-world test

We have verified the specifications, but have not found an original test that we can reliably apply to this exact model. The advice above follows the documented features; performance, noise and long-term reliability are not independently established here.

Questions before buying

Is N5PRO-37006US the same machine as other N5 family models?

No. Air is Ryzen 7 255 non-ECC SODIMM with a plastic chassis. Pro is HX PRO 370 with ECC-capable SODIMMs and U.2. Max is soldered LPDDR5x Strix Halo with dual 10GbE and an internal 250W PSU. Do not copy one SKU’s RAM or price onto another.[1]

Does MinisCloud include RAID, snapshots and backup?

MinisCloud provides ZFS pools, snapshots, containers and client-to-NAS backup. LinuxLinks’ August 2026 N5 Pro review shows RAIDZ1 requiring at least three disks, RAIDZ2 four and RAIDZ3 six; the disabled options were disk-count restrictions. Its Backup app could not copy data already on the NAS to another target. The reviewer also observed a SAN/iSCSI app and a working Ubuntu VM, but no SSH/SFTP or native sharing of attached USB disks. These observations describe that tested release; confirm the build and required features before relying on it for backup.[1][4][5]

Can I install TrueNAS or Unraid?

The Pro was tested with Proxmox and Ubuntu, while NASCompares reported TrueNAS/Unraid use. Check driver support for the delivered 10GbE controller and retain installation/recovery media.[8][6]

Where can I buy this exact US configuration new?

The price section lists the verified manufacturer variant and a matching Newegg marketplace configuration. Check seller, delivery and included RAM before purchase.[3][9]
