IT Pro: ATTO 2MB 283 MB/s read; 223 disk / 248 flash write. PCMark10 Data Drive 584/590. 10k-file ~64/74 MB/s. Btrfs-under-QTS and 8GB-max/dimension lines are not adopted as official specs.

QNAP TS-253E review: A dual-bay business NAS with long-term support
Tested: 8GB TS-253E; two 1TB Western Digital Black NVMe SSDs and two 4TB Synology NAS HDDs named in setup; thick storage-pool volume then RAID1 arrays; HDD tests with and without SSD cache plus a separate NVMe volume. Additional HDD set and per-result mapping are not fully itemized; precise QTS build unspecified.
Applies to: Original 8GB TS-253E throughput evidence. The article reports a spare memory slot but an 8GB maximum; current QNAP hardware documentation specifies two SODIMMs and 16GB maximum since 2024/01. Exact production revision of the sample is not established.
- The 2.5GbE link capped large reads; flash storage helped write and small-file workloads more than sequential reads.Source location: Performance section

Limits to keep in mind
- Author says they formatted Btrfs under QTS — QTS volumes are EXT4; do not adopt Btrfs as an official QTS spec.
- Author dimensions 165×105×227 mm and memory-max 8GB (despite a spare slot on their sample) are not adopted as official current specs (official table: since-2024/01 two SODIMMs, 16GB max).
- Affiliate/commerce possible.
- Setup names HDD/SSD families and capacities, but not exact MPNs or a full per-result disk/cache/RAID mapping.
