Exact US MPN TS-264-8G-US; official hardware table TS-264-8G; 8 GB SODIMM DDR4 Since 2024/01; 2 x 3.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s The system is shipped without HDD. For the HDD compatibility list, please visit https://www.qnap.com/compatibility/.
QNAP’s TS-264-8G hardware table lists 8 GB SODIMM DDR4 since 2024/01 (16 GB max) and HDMI 2.1. PC-WELT/PCWorld is one RAID1 HDD experiment on an 8GB SODIMM unit, not a second lab. NASCompares 2023 is a soldered-8GB hardware/software tour with no NAS throughput table; its 18.28/29.08 W and 250–270 MB/s figures are official/theoretical, not measured. TechRadar is an older soldered board. ChooseCompute has not tested the unit. See the review evidence ↓

A capable two-bay x86 NAS with dual 2.5GbE, NVMe slots and useful application headroom.[1]
Plan the array and client path around 10GbE: Optional via PCIe expansion card; 2.5GbE: 2 (2.5G/1G/100M/10M).[4]
The exact factory configuration and platform limits do not make this the safest default for that need: you need more than two hdd bays.[1]

Advertised port speed is not a guarantee for one file transfer; drive count, RAID, protocol, client and switch can each become the limit.[1]
PC-WELT’s experiment, also published by PCWorld, used the socketed8GB revision with two4TB IronWolf Pro ST4000NE001 drives in RAID1 on a single2.5GbE link. An8GB test file reached247.31MB/s write and284.89MB/s read, while a2GB small-file backup wrote at42.43MB/s. Those workload differences matter more than the port rating alone.[4]

It covers the exact US MPN TS-264-8G-US. The selected official hardware-table heading is TS-264-8G.[1][2][3]
The official hardware table describes the platform. Store bundles can change, so confirm the exact seller listing and included drives or accessories before ordering.[1][2][3]
The selected official configuration lists 10GbE: Optional via PCIe expansion card; 2.5GbE: 2 (2.5G/1G/100M/10M). A client, switch, cabling, protocol and storage array must all support the intended speed.[1]
No. This guide brings together QNAP documentation and 1 retained original reviews or owner experiences. Each record states its configuration and limitations; some are qualitative.[4]
The offer records are dated 2026-09-10. 1 listing supplied a numeric price; seller, price, stock and delivery can change, so recheck the live page before purchase.[2][3]
The hardware-page software tables still print QTS 5.2.9 and, where present, QuTS hero h5.2.9. Those strings are the versions on that table, not a claim that they are the newest firmware. QuTS hero h6.0.2.3591 (release notes dated 2026-08-24) lists this family among Applicable Models. That listing is not a hands-on install on the US 8G SKU.[1][5]
