You can populate fewer than eight slots; choose the array and SSD endurance for your workload. Each slot is PCIe 3.0 x1, and the single 10GbE link does not provide network redundancy.[1]
Macworld’s short RAID 0 test reached 1034/913 MB/s read/write, while its 450 GB RAID 1 write was around 250 MB/s. DIY Life’s 70 GB write settled below 650 MB/s on a different TRAID setup. These are separate configurations.[2][6][5]

Choose drive count and RAID for usable capacity and availability; keep an independent copy. All retained offers are diskless.[1]
Budget for compatible client ports, adapters and switching. Multiple Ethernet ports do not automatically combine into one faster transfer.[1]
