Living with it
DXP4800 Plus combines Pentium Gold 8505, expandable 8GB DDR5, four SATA bays, two NVMe slots and 10GbE plus 2.5GbE. It suits a flexible home server or shared photo archive. Budget for the drives and client network, and judge performance using the workload you actually copy.[1]
ITPro reached at least 580 MB/s for large ATTO operations on a 5GbE-limited client, while its 11.1GB mixed folder achieved only 58.37 MB/s write and 75.84 MB/s read. The test does not establish the full 10GbE ceiling.[3]
PetaPixel found centralizing photos useful, uploading around 50–80 MB/s over apartment Wi-Fi. The author explicitly was not editing directly from the NAS. ITPro could not complete its Plex test, so there is no measured transcoding ceiling here.[4]

ATTO large-block performance approached the 5GbE client limit, while the mixed Windows file copy was much slower. ATTO large operations: 580MB/s or higher. 2MB operations and above, across tested volumes; client capped at 5GbE.

Tested: 8GB RAM; four 4TB Synology HDDs in RAID 5; two 1TB WD Black NVMe SSDs first in RAID 1 and then reconfigured as read/write cache. PC with 5GbE adapter through a 10GbE switch; firmware not specified.
Applies to: Exact Plus model. The client limits peak network testing to 5GbE; mixed-copy and ATTO results are different workloads.
