What 8TB changes in a NAS plan
Its capacity is practical only if it leaves enough room for growth before the next drive replacement. Calculate formatted space, redundancy, snapshots and backup copies before deciding how many drives to buy.[1]

Plus Series 8TB: specifications and dated store comparison →8TB decimal for Synology home and small-office systems, with the exact HAT3320-8T revision kept separate.
One Synology Plus Series 8TB HAT3320-8T internal SATA hard drive. NAS enclosure and other drives sold separately.
This guide checks the exact HAT3320-8T column: 7200 rpm, 281 MB/s typical, 300 TB/year workload, 1.2 million hour MTBF, air-filled, 34/35 dB idle/seek. Blackvoid’s August 2025 note compares this SKU with HAT3310-8T on paper and is not a lab. Amazon returned a full PDP with an unqualified buy box; Newegg had only a search page. ChooseCompute has not tested this drive. See evidence and test gaps ↓
Is 8TB Plus Series storage right for your NAS?
A 8TB-per-bay capacity plan
One drive provides 8TB decimal before formatting; redundancy and growth allowance still reduce practical headroom.[1]
Synology home and small-office systems
The documented 300TB/year read, written or verified and family features support this intended class, within the exact host compatibility boundary.[1]
Quiet storage beside a desk
Published acoustic labels and review observations, when available, do not predict resonance or seek noise in your enclosure.[1]
A workload that needs proven latency or application speed
The evidence does not establish performance for every array, network, database or virtual-machine workload.[1]

Living with it
Capacity, power, cooling and sound for HAT3320-8T
What the 281 MB/s rating does and does not say
The rating is useful for checking the exact HAT3320-8T column. It does not guarantee a network transfer rate or random-I/O result, and it should not be copied to a neighboring MPN.[1]
How much confidence the available testing adds
No suitable exact-MPN original performance test was found, so the buying advice rests on specifications. ChooseCompute has not tested this drive.[1]
Related: paper upgrades versus HAT3310-8T
Blackvoid reports HAT3320-8T raises typical sustained transfer from 260 MB/s on HAT3310-8T to 281 MB/s, and workload from 180 TB/year to 300 TB/year, while remaining air-filled rather than helium. Those are specification comparisons, not measurements of a HAT3320-8T sample.[5][1]
What still needs a real-world test
We have verified the specifications, but have not found an original test that we can reliably apply to this exact model. The advice above follows the documented features; performance, noise and long-term reliability are not independently established here.

Current and historical HAT3320-8T listings and ownership costs
No usable current main offer on 2026-09-10
The current attempts were blocked, redirected, mismatched, lacked a selectable new main offer or exposed only unresolved store templates. No current seller, price or stock was inferred.[1]
Historical listings remain separate
The 3 retained historical listings keep their original August or early-September 2026 dates and are not overwritten by the 2026-09-10 observations.[2][3]
Compare the delivered unit and seller
Check HAT3320-8T, new condition, seller, regional warranty channel, shipping and return terms. A marketplace product page does not by itself identify the current seller.[2][3]
Budget for the storage layout
A mirrored or parity-protected layout may require multiple drives, while a separate backup needs additional storage. Compare total delivered cost for the complete plan.[1]

HAT3320-8T questions before buying
How much usable space will 8TB provide?
Less than the decimal label after formatting, and less again when the chosen redundancy layout reserves capacity. Leave room for growth and snapshots.[1]
What should I verify before ordering HAT3320-8T?
Confirm the full MPN, seller, new condition, NAS compatibility, firmware support, mounting fit and delivered price. Recheck every historical merchant listing.[1][2]
Has ChooseCompute tested this drive?
No. This guide synthesizes manufacturer documents, retained merchant records and any clearly identified third-party original tests; each result keeps its setup limits.[1]
