WD6005FFBX questions before buying
Is WD6005FFBX the same as every WD Red Pro 6TB?
No. WD6003FFBX is a different 6TB column with a lower internal transfer rating and different power. Match the full MPN on the label.[1]
Will one drive deliver 267 MB/s in a NAS?
That is a maximum internal read rating (footnote 3), not a SMB/NFS RAID result. The store page even shows 238 MB/s for this SKU. No exact-MPN NAS test was adopted.[1][6]
Is it limited to 24 bays?
Current official highlight and store Compatibility line say unlimited bays. Older briefs said 1–24. Neither is a substitute for your NAS vendor’s list.[1][6]
Does MTBF tell me how long my drive will last?
No. Footnote 5 says projected sample statistics at 220 TB/year and 40 °C, not a warranty for one unit. This column is 2M hours, not 2.5M.[1]
